Backpack Nation is an organization that sends backpackers on goodwill missions around the world with donations to deliver to one compelling individual, family, organization, or village that he or she encounters while traveling. This fabulous organizaiton was founded by Brad Newsham, a San Francisco writer, taxi driver and all-around one of the good guys whose book I also recommend.
