It encouraged readers to explore the world, to travel responsibly, and to support the development and humanitarian work being done around the world.

This novel approach to travel and its many talented contributors helped to make FAR-and-NEAR a leading online travel magazine. For four years, FAR-and-NEAR TRAVEL MAGAZINE earned a loyal global following, numerous awards, and highly favorable media coverage, including features on the BBC and ITV channels in the UK.

The last issue was published in the summer of 2004.
